History of TAC 

Thai Asthma Council and Association (TAC) , an association of asthma organizations in Thailand, aims to strengthen and coordinate organizations representing medical professionals, patient groups, and governmental or non-governmental entities. Its goal is to promote and support various initiatives related to asthma care by providing guidelines for practices including diagnosis, treatment, and disease monitoring.

The key objectives of TAC encompass:

  1. Promoting comprehensive asthma care following best practices, including proper diagnosis, care, and treatment result tracking.
  2. Disseminating knowledge about asthma treatment to medical personnel and patients through educational activities.
  3. Raising awareness within communities, healthcare practitioners, and policy makers about the socioeconomic impact of asthma.
  4. Facilitating collaboration between patients and medical professionals to control asthma.
  5. Establishing a research-focused academic group to gather, analyze, and disseminate information on asthma.

TAC’s achievements include:

  1. Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of adult asthma in Thailand in 2560.
  2. Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of adult asthma in Thailand in 2559.
  3. Recommendations for public health and chronic cough treatment in adults in 2559.
  4. Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of asthma in Thailand for adults and children in 2555.
  5. Complete asthma handbook for the year 2556.
  6. Annual scientific conference organization since 2554.
